It was not a good return to the Champions League for Cristiano Ronaldo and Manchester United as Young Boys ruined the party for the legend and club through a late winning goal.

Ronaldo gave the Red Devils the lead in the first half after combining with compatriot Bruno Fernandes and ended the first half with the one goal advantage but a red card to defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka forced both Ronaldo and Fernandes to be substituted.

United looked on course to secure a point from the game but the Swiss team snatched a late winner after a horrendous back pass from Ronaldo's replacement Jesse Lingard allowed American Theoson Siebatcheu to score the winner late in the game.

The last time Young Boys won a UEFA Champions League was against Juventus in 2018, a team that also had Cristiano Ronaldo and the scoreline was also 2-1. The Swiss don't like him and will always ruin his party.
