LA Galaxy has many players who share Mexican-American nationality and that is why both the Mexican team and the USMNT are very attentive to future players that may emerge from the LA Galaxy academy. One of those players is Julian Araujo but now another name has emerged that did not even play in the LA Galaxy's first team.
Both Gerardo Martino and Berhalter are very attentive to the players that may arise from the academies of the MLS teams and who share nationality. In this way between the two teams they play a race to see which team is the one that convinces the player faster to make the decision.
Mauricio Cuevas is 17 years old and plays for the LA Galaxy's second team in the USL. The defender has not yet made his debut in the first team but is expected to do so next season. Besides being very solid defensively, he has a quality that caught everyone's attention at USL.
As a defender, it is expected that the goals are made from the head or from some special play but Mauricio Cuevas became a specialist kicking free throws. The young player surprised everyone this year at USL as every time he kicked a free kick it was either a goal or he was very close to it. Remember this name as it will give you something to talk about in the future of MLS
