English football, and also municipal, has come across unexpected news when it learned that footballer Lee Collins died this Wednesday, as confirmed by the Yeovil Town club where he played two years ago. The posting on the institution's networks was plagued with messages of affection for the footballer who was 32 years old and had no cardiac history.
According to a Police statement: “Officers attended a report of a sudden death at an address on High Street, West Coker last night around 5 pm. Unfortunately, the body of a 32-year-old man was located. His death is not being treated as suspicious and has been referred to the coroner. His family has been informed and our thoughts are with them".
This was an unpleasant surprise for the city of Yeovil as the defender wore the home team's colors and had earned the captaincy ribbon. In addition, no one suspected that this could happen, even at the weekend he was among the substitutes of the 3-1 loss against Barnet on Saturday and the coach was going to take it into account for the next duel. Due to what happened, the next day's meeting, initially scheduled for Friday, was postponed.
“Everyone at Yeovil Town Football Club is mourning the loss of club captain Lee Collins. Lee sadly passed away yesterday and our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. We ask everyone to respect the privacy of the family at this time. The club will not comment further at this time. Our game with Altrincham tomorrow has been postponed”, the team said in a statement.
