Several MLS coaches have offers from clubs in Europe, South America, and Mexico to manage their teams. However, in the case of Club Universidad Nacional, they have on the list of the possible coach an assistant coach in MLS.

It is about Gonzalo Pineda, the current assistant coach of Brian Schmetzer in Seattle Sounders FC. The possible coach of Club Universidad Nacional has had a long history that places him as the ideal person for the position of coach at PUMAS.

As a professional player, he played part of his career at Club Universidad Nacional, was part of the Mexico Soccer Team in the 2006 FIFA World Cup, at the end of his career he became a soccer analyst and, finally, his most recent job with Seattle Sounders FC as an assistant coach.
