The English Premier League is full of iconic moments and incredible records and that's what makes it the most-watched football league in the world. Numerous goal records have been set in the Premier League but one of the hardest is scoring multiple goals in one match, nonetheless scoring 5 goals in a match. Only a handful of players have achieved this in the history of the EPL and we'll look at some of the players who have scored 5 goals in a single Premier League match below:

Sergio Aguero - Manchester City Vs Newcastle United

Argentine striker, Sergio Aguero entered Premier League history when he netted five goals against the Magpies on October 3rd, 2015. The City striker netted 5 times in the 6-1 demolition of Newcastle United, impressively scoring 4 goals within 13 second-half minutes. Aguero's 5 goals were scored from 7 shots and within 20 minutes of either half, making him the player to score 5 goals within the fastest time.

Dimitar Berbatov - Manchester United Vs. Blackburn

Bulgarian forward, Dimitar Berbatov became the first foreign player to score 5 goals in a single Premier League match when he netted a quintet against Blackburn Rovers in 2010. Berbatov was responsible for 5 of the 7 goals that United scored in the 7-1 win over Rovers. Berbatov got 2 assists from Nani and 1 from Patrice Evra on his way to making a landmark contribution.

Jermaine Defoe - Tottenham Hotspur Vs. Wigan Athletic

English forward, Jermaine Defoe scored 5 goals in a ruthless 9-1 thrashing of Wigan Athletic. Defoe scored a hat-trick of goals after the break within 7 and a half minutes, the second-fastest hat-trick in Premier League history - before adding 2 more goals later in the second half. Peter Crouch, Nico Kranjcar, Aaron Lennon and David Bentley were the other goalscorers in the win against Wigan Athletic.
