Best news for Messi’s Inter Miami, Suárez wouldn’t be call up for Copa America and his new role in the team
Luis Suarez will have a new role this summer as the Copa America approaches.
The Copa America 2024 will start in a few weeks, and Inter Miami fans are worried about the tournament causing a bid downfall to their 2024 MLS Season. Lionel Messi will be playing with the Argentina national team during the Copa America to defend the title they won in 2021. Messi will likely miss up to seven MLS games with Inter Miami since the international tournament will be occurring in the middle of the American soccer season. Inter Miami hopes that not all their stars will be gone, as Luis Suarez is not guaranteed to go to the Uruguay national team for the Copa America. New reports suggest that Suarez won’t make it into the Copa America squad as Uruguay did not call up Luis Suarez for the friendly against Mexico. This makes his chances of going to the Copa América even more difficult; he is practically ruled out. Suarez will now be the main attacker of Inter Miami while Messi is playing with Argentina in the Copa America.
Suarez is one of the best players at Inter Miami and is equally as important as Messi. Suarez has scored 15 goals and provided seven assists in 17 matches played so far this year. The Uruguayan striker has 12 goals and five assists in 16 MLS matches this season.
Suarez scored for Inter Miami last night in the MLS against St. Louis City at the Chase Stadium. The striker scored from close range after a great dribble by Messi and a great pass from Jordi Alba. Suarez also scored an own goal in the match as well as it ended 3-3. Inter Miami are still first in the Eastern Conference with 35 points after 18 games played.

Inter Miami’s next game will be against the Philadelphia Union on June 15th. The Copa America starts on June 20th, and the tournament ends on July 14th. Inter Miami will be playing against Colombus Crew, Charlotte FC, and FC Cincinnati. On July 17th, Inter Miami will play against Toronto FC, days after the final of the Copa America.
