Arsenal has pulled out of the Florida Cup and abandoned their pre-season tour of the U.S. due to a number of positive coronavirus cases in the camp of the Gunners. This represents a significant change of plans for the Arsenal gaffer with less than a month before his Premier league curtain-raiser against Brentford on August 13.

The Gunners were billed to face-off with Everton, Inter Milan and Colombian side Millionarios in the 4-team Florida Cup. But on confirmation that a number of coronavirus cases have been recorded within the Arsenal camp, it was decided that the Emirates club side should cancel their U.S. tour altogether. It is still unclear if the Florida Cup would go ahead without Arsenal FC.

The English side was prepared to travel to the U.S. on Wednesday for the Florida Cup and face Inter Milan on July 25. The winners of that match would then play the winners of the other match between Everton and Millionarios.

Mikel Arteta's side got off to a rather slow pre-season where they took in two matches in Scotland. They lost the first to Hibernian by 2-1 and drew with Rangers 2-2.
