The United States have been crowned Champions of the 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup after they trumped eternal rivals Mexico 1-0 at the Allegiant Stadium on Sunday 1st August. Miles Robinson scored the decider in the 117th minute after both sides failed to find the back of the net in 90 regular minutes and were just 3 minutes to Penalty Shootouts. USA are now 7-time winners of the competition, dethroning Sunday's finalists, Mexico, as Champions.

Apart from the bragging rights of putting one over fierce rivals Mexico, the USMNT are also in line for good financial compensation for going all the way to the final and lifting the trophy. Despite the CONCACAF not officially stating the prize money yet, we can calculate roughly how much the team would be earning for being victorious.

It is reported that every team that qualified for the Gold Cup is assured $200,000 in participation fees. Then, every team that progressed to the Quarterfinals would be rewarded with $125,000 each. It is unclear if CONCACAF would pay for the semi-final stage or what amount they'll pay. However, the Champions are expected to earn $1m in cash prize while the Runner-up earns $500,000. The Bronze medallists would receive $200,000 while the 4th-placed team gets $150,000. This means that the United States are guaranteed $1.325m for winning the Gold Cup.

In comparison to other continental competitions, the CONCACAF Gold Cup pays less. Winners of the UEFA Euros go home with at least $12m while the South-American Copa America guarantees winners $10m.
