José Mourinho, who left his mark on European football for the good results, gave his testimony for the book Stay crazy and hungry, by Joao Gabriel, and told his version of the history of the day that almost made Cristiano Ronaldo cry.

"When we got to the locker room, Ronaldo was desperate, almost on the verge of crying, and he said, 'I'm doing the best I can and he continues to criticize me,'" Modric explained.

Mourinho gave a much less dramatic version of this fact. “We were in the last minute of a two-game tie. We were winning 2-0 and Cristiano makes a ‘backside’, as they say in Spain, and loses the ball to João Pereira.

At the end of the game I told Cristiano that, in a round like this, winning 2-0 was different from winning 2-1. He didn't like it ... but nothing special: “I have problems with egocentric players who put their personal goals before their collective ones because that makes work difficult."
