Lautaro Martinez showed once again why he is one of the most committed players in world football. After Inter's dramatic 4-3 win over Barcelona in the second leg of the Champions League semi-final —a result that sent the Nerazzurri to the final with a 7-6 aggregate— the Argentine striker made a stunning revelation.
"I was suffering, my leg was bothering me. I spent two days crying at home, but I couldn't miss tonight's match. I wrapped it tightly and went out on the pitch. That's who I am, that's how I live football," Lautaro told reporters after the final whistle.
His emotional statement quickly went viral, especially considering the effort he put in throughout the 120 minutes. He was visibly in pain but never stopped fighting for every ball.
"I cried a lot after the match against Barcelona, but I promised my family I would play. I don't feel good, but we will work so that my leg regains its strength," he added.
Martinez's performance, even while not at 100%, was key for Inter. His leadership, passion, and courage were fundamental in pushing the Italian giants into another European final.
