He had had a very testimonial role in his first year at FC Barcelona, between the demands of the club and Ronald Koeman's system without extremes. The Catalans and Wolverhampton Wanderers have reached an agreement for the transfer of the striker, Francisco Trincao, to the English team until June 30, 2022, the culé institution reported this Sunday, in what has been a surprise for many fans.

As reported by the EFE news agency from sources close to the negotiation, the 'Wolves' will take over the entire player's file and reserve a purchase option of 30 million euros. This option is not mandatory but, if it is not executed, the British entity will have to compensate Barça with 6 million euros.

Trincao, who is 20 years old, arrived at Barcelona in the summer of 2020 from Sporting de Braga, who collected 31 million for the transfer of the winger. During his season as a Barça player, the Portuguese played a total of 43 games -28 in LaLiga Santander (where he scored all three goals, two against Alavés and one against Betis), seven in the Champions League, five in the Copa del Rey and two in the Spanish Super Cup-, in which he scored three goals and gave two assists.

To date, this is the Barca club's fourth loss so far in the summer transfer market, after the departures of Todibo, to Nice, Konrad to Olympique de Marseille, and the termination of Matheus Fernandes' contract. Thus, Barcelona saves the player's file, something transcendental to continue reducing the salary mass of the squad. The institution has yet to resolve similar ‘cases’ such as Samuel Umtiti, Miralem Pjanic, Martin Braithwaite, Philippe Coutinho or Ousmane Dembelé.
