Just a couple of hours after it was known that Nike broke its relationship with Neymar last year because he refused to collaborate with an investigation into a complaint of sexual assault by an employee against him, the Brazilian star broke the silence and made a strong defense against the company that sponsored him since he was 13 years old.
Ney spoke through his Instagram account about the accusation made by a Nike employee against the Paris Saint Germain player. The woman said that the Brazilian tried to force her to perform oral sex on a trip to New York in 2016.
“Facts can be distorted because people see them from different angles. We cannot deny that life is like this. I even understand when someone criticizes my behavior, my way of playing and living life. We're different! I really don't understand how a serious company can distort a document-backed business relationship. Written words cannot be modified0, says the publication.
In a post in which he used a photo of his tattoo that says “Faith”, Neymar charged harshly against the sportswear firm: “Since I was 13 years old, when I signed my first contract, they always warned me: don't talk about your contracts! Contracts are confidential! Breaking that rule and claiming that my contract was terminated because I did not contribute in good faith to an investigation is absurd and a liar. Once again I am advised that I cannot comment in public. I will obey indignantly !. ”

On the other hand, the 29-year-old Brazilian attacker explained his version of events in detail, emphasizing that there were several opportunities in which the alleged problem could have been resolved internally but Nike never gave rise to it.
“In 2016 it seems that they already knew about this event. I did not know! In 2017 I traveled to the United States again for an advertising campaign, with the same people, and nothing was said, nothing changed! In 2017, 2018, 2019 we made trips, campaigns, countless recording sessions. They didn't tell me anything. Such a serious matter and they did nothing. Who are the real responsible? I didn't have a chance to defend myself. I was not given the opportunity to find out who this offended person was. I don't even know her. I have never had any relationship. I didn't even have the opportunity to speak, to know the true reasons for her pain. That person, an employee, was not protected. I, a sponsored athlete, was not protected”, he shot.
At the end of his publication on social networks, Neymar referred to the fact that he will have to continue wearing Nike on a daily basis because it is the brand that PSG wears. “Irony of fate, I will continue to have a mark on my chest that betrayed me. This is life! I stand firm and strong, believing that time, always this cruel time, will bring the true answers. Faith in God!”, he concluded.
