Argentina is one of the three main favorites to win the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, which finally starts in just about eight days. On the 20th of this month, Qatar will face Ecuador, and it will be the first match of the most important tournament in the world.

Lionel Messi is focused on the World Cup in Qatar, where the Argentine team will face Saudi Arabia, Mexico and Poland in the group stage, however he maintains his humility and does not feel like a favorite. While Kylian Mbappé said that France is the main candidate to obtain the Cup, Leo referred to a possible crossing with the Gauls.

The highest winner of the Ballon d'Or (7) he already has his sights set on Qatar. Although he still has a commitment to PSG, within the framework of Ligue 1, Leo is already counting down the days for his debut against the Asians, this November 22. Messi was consulted about the possible rival in the round of 16 and taught a lesson.

Interviewed by Olé, Lionel Messi, author of 12 goals and 14 assists with PSG this season, mentioned that it is a mistake to think of France or Denmark as potential rivals in the next round. Leo pointed out that he is only focused on the group stage and the importance of winning the first match against Saudi Arabia.

While Leo is humble, his partner Mbappé thinks differently:

After renewing his relationship with PSG, Mbappé was asked about which teams are emerging as candidates to win the World Cup. Without any qualms, he maintained that France is the number one option. He added that Argentina and Brazil do not start as favorites, since they do not have strong rivals in South America and that will weigh on them in the World Cup.
