Qatar 2022 World Cup Draw: La'eeb FIFA World Cup Mascot unveiled

At the Qatar 2022 World Cup Draw, La'eeb, the FIFA World Cup mascot, was presented in an animated video in which his appearance, movements, and even his voice were revealed. 

La'eeb was introduced to the public through a very dynamic presentation, in which the presenter was converted to an animated version and entered a cartoon world, in which tribute was paid to the mascots of several animated World Cups. 

A tribute was paid to the mascots of previous World Cups

Thus, the video showed Juanito (Mexico 70), Naranjito (Spain 82), the Argentine Gauchito from 78, Ciao (Italy 90), the dog Striker from the United States 94, the rooster Footix (France 98), the lion Goleo (Germany 2006) and Fuleco (Brazil 2014), among other mascots from previous World Cups.

The mascot of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar was also presented through FIFA's social networks, in which he was introduced with the following text: "He arrived from the mascot universe full of energy and is ready to bring the joy of soccer to the whole world."

The meaning of the name La'ebb is liberation, as the translation of its name indicates.

In the presentation video, the Qatar 2022 mascot tried to pay tribute not only to the mascots of the previous World Cups but also to the countries that hosted these tournaments. 

At first glance the new mascot looks like a kind of ghost, however, it represents a turban, which is a classic element of Arab culture and clothing.
