Kevin De Bruyne will experience a new season at Manchester City where he will now have the responsibility of being the new captain of the club. Despite the fact that the Belgian had already worn the armband on more than one occasion, the departure of Iikay Gundogan has meant that he now remains the club's first captain and great leader of the current European champion.

The 32-year-old player scored 10 goals and provided 31 assists among the different competitions, of which the Citizens signed the treble of titles: the FA Cup and the Premier League added to the consecration in the highest European event.

The Belgian revealed that he suffered from an ailment during the last two months of the campaign and this was evident when he was forced to leave the field of play in the 36th minute of the momentous final with the Nerazzurro on June 10. However, after being champion of Europe and England, the player will now have the responsibility of being the new captain of the club.

What does De Bruyne say about being the new Manchester City captain?

“Nothing yet. If I get it, I get it. It's not going to change anything. My ninth year, I know the club inside out... I'm not worried. I try to do the same as always. An honor if I get it, it doesn't matter if not," De Bruyne said in a chat with Yahoo Sports. It is expected that the player will once again be one of the great references of the club this season.
