Mason Greenwood's future at Manchester United is an unknown. The player comes from a long judicial process after being accused of assault by his partner and this has cost him to be suspended from the club. However, as the case became clearer, the player could end up returning to Old Trafford.
It has been 16 long months since Mason Greenwood last played for Manchester United, and clarity over his future with the club could be just around the corner. The issues surrounding the player have been well documented and, as a result, the Red Devils took the decision to suspend him from all football-related activities.
In an interview with The Times, Erik Ten Hag spoke about Greenwood's abilities as a leader: "he proved in the past that he is capable of doing that" (leading role, scoring 36 times in 130 appearances), but made it clear that any subsequent decision is not his to make. The quality of the footballer has never been in doubt or questioned. However, associating his actions with the integrity of the team is something the Red Devils will never allow. As such, they are already making a decision on his future.
The player will be discussed by various members of the board and coaching staff, as to what role he may have should he return. However, if the latest investigations determine that the player damaged the integrity of the club, he will be sent on loan away from England and Manchester.
