Two of the great legends that Liverpool FC has had in recent years have been precisely Salah and Sadio Mane. The Africans were part of one of the most lethal offensive tridents in Liverpool's history. However, Roberto Firmino reveals that there were tensions at Liverpool between his former teammates Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane. This in conversation with Sky.

Salah and Mane had had their little problems before, but that time it all happened on the pitch, there for the world to see. That day, in the match against Burnley (August 2019) came the last straw. They were never the best of friends; each one kept to himself. It was complicated for me because I was in the middle of the two, I get along very well with both of them, but I noticed it all the time, the body language of both of them, the disagreement and discomfort of Mo and Sadio. I could feel it.

“In that match, James Milner tried to calm him down, but Sadio (Mané) was very angry, sitting on the bench, fuming, gesticulating repeatedly. Although everyone began to realize their enmity, I knew that Salah and Mané had already had disagreements since the 2018-2019 season, but for the majority this was only the first and last disagreement and it was not like that.

The revelation of Roberto Firmino

“I tried to put cold cloths to a heavy atmosphere between the two, they never became friends, each one stayed in their own space. It was strange, I wasn't sure if that had to do with the rivalry between Egypt and Senegal in the African competitions. But they respected each other a lot and had a very cordial bond. They always acted with the utmost professionalism. I never took sides. That's why maybe they love me, I always passed the ball to both of them without any preference, my only preference was for us to win. Maybe that's why I was replaced the most by Klopp. The three of us had very different personalities and the boss knew that I was the calmest,” Firmino confessed.
