Manchester United is preparing a major bid to sign Neymar in the next transfer window, reports El Nacional de Catalunya. Erik Ten Hag's team secured their participation in the next UEFA Champions League and this gives them more leeway to negotiate big-name signings for next season.

One of them would be the possible arrival of Neymar Jr, after Le Parisien reported that his stay at PSG is very complicated. Much of this is due to the board's loss of confidence in the player. As well as the tense relationship between the club's ultras and the Brazilian, who is credited with a lack of commitment to the club.

Given this situation, the departure of Neymar Jr has become a possibility and Manchester United is aware of it. The Brazilian currently receives an amount close to 30 million euros per year, an amount that the Old Trafford club could approach to convince the Brazil captain.

However, news of the Red Devils' interest in Neymar reached the ears of Manchester City, who made a move that could be considered a low blow to their great city rivals. It is worth remembering that the relationship between Neymar and Pep Guardiola is very positive and they could never coincide in any team.

What did Manchester City do for Neymar?

The English team is also aware that the Brazilian could be an important market opportunity and therefore, they knock on the player's door. According to L'Equipe, Pep Guardiola contacted the Brazilian to ask him about his current situation and his future plans. He would have let him know of a small possibility at Manchester City, although it is complicated. However, Neymar still has enough quality to break into a team like Manchester City, although the positions could already be filled, unless there are sudden departures in the summer of 2023.
