Luis Diaz and his parents are going through certainly difficult times in the last few hours. After the kidnapping of the parents of the Liverpool FC star in Colombian lands was reported, the whereabouts of each of them were finally found. The mother was released a few hours after the incident, but the father remains unreleased, even though it was confirmed that he would be released by the group responsible.

Luis Díaz is in the news again and not precisely because of his football level, but because of a family and security issue that is of great concern in the country. It was learned that the Liverpool player's father was kidnapped in La Guajira, so the authorities are already aware of this case and are doing everything possible to rescue him. The point is that the ELN guerrilla group claimed responsibility for the kidnapping, which is why they released a statement explaining that the process to free him would begin in the next few hours.

The point is that the days have passed and the ELN has not released the player's father. Through a statement the guerrilla group gave the explanation why they have not done so. “The area remains militarized, they carry out flights, landing of troops and an intense rake operation. This situation does not allow the execution of the release plan quickly and safely, where Mr. Luis Manuel Díaz is not at risk.”

The message sent by those responsible for the kidnapping of Luis Díaz's father

Likewise, the ELN sent a message to the Liverpool player's family, as a message of calm, confirming that they will keep their word to release him, but they need guarantees. “We understand the anguish of the Díaz Marulanda family, as soon as we have security guarantees for the development of the liberation operation.”
