Manchester City is close to receiving a significant sanction after being investigated for breaching financial rules in the Premier League. However, Sky and Mirrror reported that it was a case similar to that of Everton, who was recently sanctioned with 10 points. However, it is reported that the citizen team has violated more than 115 Financial Fair Play rules.

 

This Friday, Everton was sanctioned with a loss of 10 points in the standings for failure to comply with financial fair play in the Premier League, with 142.5 million euros of losses in three years, compared to the 120 million authorized (read the article ).

And, as the English media point out, Manchester City may tremble, since the Skyblues have been accused of having committed 115 violations of the financial regulations in force throughout the English Channel. According to The Times, the Mancunian club faces to "the threat of a 30-point deduction or automatic relegation."

 

The investigation continues for Manchester City

The investigation is still ongoing and the sanction should not be pronounced before 2025. Note that Chelsea are also at risk of being caught by the patrol due to questionable transfers made between 2012 and 2019, under the Roman Abramovich era.
