The former Espanyol midfielder made his debut with the Sky Blues in the Champions League.

The victory in UEFA Champions League allowed Manchester City to sign the first plenary session in its history in the Group Stage of the competition. Not only that. He boasted about his Academy ball boy Micah Hamilton scored in his debut, Oscar Bobb scored his first goal with the seniors and Mahamadou Susoho Sissoho became the last Spaniard to debut under Pep Guardiola.

This dominant midfielder and ball retriever, as stated in his bio on the Sky Blue website, ended up in Manchester in 2017, at the age of 11, from Espanyol. His prodigious physique, his good eye for passing and his assertive presence in midfield have caused him to attract attention regularly, you can also read in his official profile.

Susoho, of Gambian parents and 1.75 meters tall, burst into City with force. He played a key role in the team that won the Under 18 Premiership in 2021-22. A couple of very long injuries slowed his progress last season, but this season he has taken advantage of injuries to Isaiah Dada-Mascoll and Jacob Wright to make his way. Between the reserve team and the Youth League he has played 12 games in which he has registered two goals and one assist. He is also a regular in the first team's training sessions.

At City they are delighted with Susoho. He has things, about how he plays, that cannot be coached. He has a natural exuberance that you associate with a creative, offensive footballer, but he also performs defensively. He went through the Espanyol academy and that can be seen in the quality with which he executes certain technical actions, his coach, Brian Barry-Murphy, acknowledged to Manchester Evening News.

He was with England, but he is international with Spain

Susoho has already played with Spain under 17 and under 18. However, England tried to recruit him. He even went so far as to be called up before making his debut with La Rojita. Susoho, for his part, defines himself as a very diverse player. I can do everything, with and without the ball. I don't talk to him much, but I watch a lot of videos of Rodri and, when I train with the first team, I pay attention to what positions he adopts and the way he controls the game, he admits to MEN. I'm more defensive than offensive, but I'm not bad at attacking, he explained in Relevo.
