Raúl Jiménez and Wolves won and convinced on their game against Leicester City

Wolverhampton won their last two games, against Tottenham, where Raúl Jiménez scored, and Leicester City, and they currently stand seventh in Premier League, just two points away from the fifth place and spot that grants access to Europa League next season.

But for Raúl Jiménez, there might not be next season in Molineux, as his latest performances, in addition to the statistics he had on previous seasons, are starting to point towards a departure from Wolves for next season.

According to Tuttomercato, José Mourinho is interested in the “Mexican wolf” as AS Roma has showed a lack of aim that has prevented them of being on the mix for the title, or even of the spots that give access to a European competition next season, something that worries the Portuguese coach.

What’s Raúl Jiménez current market value?

It’s worth remembering that Mourinho has shown interest in Jiménez in the past, although he wasn’t able to acquire him when he was coaching Tottenham, but now, if Roma is wants to regain their protagonist role in Serie A again, they could fulfill Mourinho’s wish.

Raúl Jiménez arrived in Wolves back in 2019 out of Primeira Liga side Benfica FC for a transfer worth $42 million. His market value was higher in 2020, after his injury it dropped to $24.2 million, according to Transfermarkt, although Wolves are asking for $34 million, a figure that Roma is willing to pay.

The man behind the deal

There’s one thing that both Raúl Jiménez and José Mourinho share, and that is their agent. The Portuguese Jorge Mendes could be the one that finally gives Mourinho the striker he needs to return to the European elite. Other players that are clients of Jorge Mendes are Cristiano Ronaldo, Radamel Falcao García, James Rodríguez and Keylor Navas.
