Kevin De Bruyne may be off the pitch for months after his most recent injury against Burnley. This was confirmed by Pep Guardiola at the press conference prior to the match against Sevilla FC in the UEFA SuperCup final. It treats of a delicate loss for the English team and that could go out to the market in search of a replacement.

The new Manchester City captain has had an unforgettable month of August. The midfielder missed the penalty in the Community Shield final, which they ended up losing. Then, in the first game of the Premier League, he fell down and could be operated on in the following days, according to the Manchester City medical team.

"He has a serious injury. Now we have to decide whether he has to undergo surgery or not," confirmed the coach of the English team. De Bruyne returned after his injury as a substitute in the English Super Cup against Arsenal and in his league debut last Friday against Burnley, the Belgian started, but it only lasted 23 minutes.

Will Manchester City sign a replacement?

According to Pep Guardiola, the team must analyze if they can really sign someone from guarantees in the last days of the market. However, the club's board of directors has given the green light on the options being handled. “I spoke with them and there are great possibilities that we will incorporate someone. It is a tough loss for us, since Kevin's football is fundamental”.
