After the team was acquired by the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund (PIF) in October 27 of last year, Newcastle United has been trying to add top international players to help the team avoid relegation, something that has been hard to do as they can’t seem to close the deals.

But they’re determined to have a mid-season rebuild and although a third of the winter transfer window already passed and they only managed to sign Kieran Trippier out of Atlético Madrid, they’re bidding hard for multiple players in hopes of closing a deal soon. The difference resides that their new attempts are pointing towards young promising players
One of those players is French striker Hugo Ekitike, who currently belongs to Ligue 1 side Stade Reims. Although his market value is set at $7 million, the Magpies might have to offer up to $30 million if they want Reims to let go one of their most promising players.

With only 19 years, Ektitike is currently in his breakout season, as he’s managed to score eight goals and three assistances in just 867 minutes. In Ligue 1, he’s played in 17 games, although has only started on 10 occasions.
