Manchester City closed a great season by winning the treble. One of its main pillars was precisely the Argentine Julian Alvarez, who despite not being an indiscutbile starter, contributed with 18 goals throughout the season. For this reason, and taking into account that he is wanted by some European clubs, the English club is already preparing an important offer to keep the player.

Manchester City made official in March the renewal of Julián Alvarez until 2028. Negotiations began a few weeks ago with the aim of tying the Argentine striker to the Citizens. His contract was due to expire in 2027 but, since his return to the World Cup, the board wanted to ensure the continuity of the 23-year-old.

The player had a contract until 2027, so he only extended it by one year, but thanks to the extension he managed to significantly improve his salary: he doubled his wage and will receive £4,800,000 per year. However, with the interest of Real Madrid, the player could receive an even higher amount.

Manchester City wants to increase Julian Alvarez's salary again?

The club is now looking to renew his contract for another season. The player could earn more than 5 million euros per year. Manchester City is working to armor its main players for next season, taking into account the possible exit operation that could be looming in the English team.
