Manchester City will face Southampton in the 24th round of the Premier League next Saturday. Manchester City’s last game was against Chelsea, where they won 1-0 at the Etihad Stadium with a solo goal from Belgian Kevin De Bruyne.

The Sky Blues clash against Southampton will be the second match in the season between the clubs for the Premier League. The first game was a draw in round five. Ralph Hasenhüttl's team has been one of four clubs that have caused Guardiola’s team to lose points.

Manchester City have won 12 games in a row, proving why they are the reigning Premier League champions. The Sky Blues want to win the league again and it looks like they will do it again. Their closest pursuers are Liverpool, who are 11 points behind City but with a game in hand.

Let's take a look at the possible starting lineup based on what coach Guardiola has done in recent games.

Guardiola is likely to go with a 4-3-3 lineup.

Goalkeeper and defenders

Ederson (GK) - The Brazilian player is undisputed in the Premier League and his perfect footwork helps City improve their game. Zack Steffen is always reserved for Cup games.

Ruben Días (CB) - The Portuguese and last season's best center-back was rested against Chelsea but his return for this game is very likely.

Aymeric Laporte (CB) -  The French player started against Chelsea and played at the back alongside John Stones. We believe Laporte will keep his place in the starting eleven over the Englishman, who has played less this season.

Kyle Walker (RB) - The England player is undisputable for Guardiola and is likely to start in City’s next game.

Joao Cancelo (LB) - The Portuguese has earned a place in the Sky Blues' starting eleven since last season and injuries have not dogged him, so he is likely to start over Zinchenko.

Midfielders

Ilkay Gundogan (CM) - The former Dortmund player has been phenomenal this season, the Turk, along with Rodri and Bernardo Silva, has been a regular starter.

Rodri (CM) - The Spaniard is the backbone of this team, the one who recovers balls and then distributes, his defensive play makes City stronger.

Kevin De Bruyne (CM) - The Belgian's last few games have been decisive for Manchester City. The former Chelsea player started slowly but has risen to show his usual level.

Forwards

Jack Grealish (LW) - The former Aston Villa player has struggled to adapt to Manchester City's system, however, last game he started and did well, it is likely that Guardiola could give him another chance in the starting eleven.

Gabriel Jesús (RW) - The Brazilian has played phenomenally as a right-winger although he can also play as a striker. In the last game, he did not play because Sterling won his place but he is likely to return to the starting lineup.

Bernardo Silva (ST) - The Portuguese is capable of playing everywhere under Guardiola's orders. As Kevin De Bruyne seems to be back to his best, we think Bernardo would play as a false nine as he did against Swindon in the FA Cup.
