The case of Luis Diaz does not end. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will let winger Luis Díaz decide for himself when he is ready to play again after his parents were kidnapped by a guerrilla group in Colombia. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will let winger Luis Díaz decide for himself when he is ready to play again after his parents were kidnapped by a guerrilla group in Colombia. Díaz's father remains missing, while his mother was rescued a few hours later by police after last weekend's kidnapping in the small Colombian town of Barrancas.
Colombia's government said the National Liberation Army guerrilla group, known as ELN, was responsible for the kidnapping. Klopp said Colombia international Diaz has trained with the team this week but will leave it to the striker to decide if he wants to be part of the team on Sunday for their trip to Luton.
"We have to wait. If he feels good, he will be here and train with us,” Klopp said. “The session he had with us you can see that when he is with the boys he is fine, he is fine, but you can see that he didn't sleep much... It all depends on him, whether he is available or not, and I won't force anything.” Colombian special forces have been searching for Díaz's father in a mountain range that straddles Colombia and Venezuela and is covered by a cloud forest. In this next transfer market, Liverpool's plan is to finalize the arrival of Assane Diao next summer. With the possible departure of Mohamed Salah on the horizon, Jürgen Klopp's team seeks to ensure it has the necessary pieces to maintain its competitiveness
