Manchester United is close to having a new buyer. The Red Devil team has positioned itself significantly among the most prestigious clubs in the world, but a percentage of the club has been put up for sale, which would be acquired by an important businessman, this after Qatar's refusal. Now, the significant amount they will pay for 25% of the Old Trafford team is revealed.

Qatar offered around 5,000 million pounds (5,600 million euros) to buy Manchester United, but did not convince the Glazer family, the club's owners, with its offer, who valued the sale at over 6,000 million pounds. The Sheikh of Qatar, Jassim Hamad Al Thani, has withdrawn from the bid to buy Manchester United, while British billionaire Jim Ratcliffe, owner of Ineos, will take 25% of the club. United are set to ratify a £1.3bn bid for a 25% stake in the club from Ratcliffe and his firm INEOS at a board meeting this week, according to The Times.

Qatar and Ineos have been the main interested parties in the Manchester club after the Glazers, who bought the team for less than €1 billion in 2005, announced their intention to win in November last year. Manchester United will have a new owner after a long time and the fans are excited.

The reason Qatar withdrew

Unlike Ratcliffe, Qatar was only interested in taking over the entire club and promised with its offer to eliminate all existing debt, which exceeds 1 billion euros, in addition to financing a new stadium, a new training center, player signings and create projects around the Manchester United community. The Glazers have been questioned for years for their management of the club, since the fans accuse them of having used the team to enrich themselves, and in the process having put the club into debt. Demonstrations are frequent in the vicinity of Old Trafford and banners calling for the departure of this American family at the matches themselves.
