Manchester City continues in its search to continue strengthening its club for the following seasons. Pep Guardiola's team is one of the clubs with the best squad today, but the reality is that he does not want his greatest moment to be generational, and he wants to continue adding stars or young talents. Now, he is interested in a gem who was going to be the new Messi, but he left FC Barcelona and now he is recovering his level.

The youngster took the Eredivisie by storm and the French giants quickly pulled the trigger on the clause, paying a paltry €6m to bring him back in the summer, and could sell him again next year for a huge profit. On loan at Bundesliga side RB Leipzig, the 20-year-old started like a house on fire, scoring three goals and assisting four in just six league games.

The Red Bulls have already admitted they would love to keep the Dutchman beyond this season, with recently sacked sporting director Max Eberl saying they are currently in the process of getting Simons "emotionally attached" to Leipzig. But the German team is not the only one interested in securing his services in the long term. Now, Manchester City wants to incorporate him in the next transfer market.

PSG has an advantage over Manchester City

The French team agreed with Leipzig to loan Xavi Simons for one season, with the Dutch player having to return to the French team on July 1, 2024, at which time PSG would have to make the decision to have his services, or find an exit destination through assignment or transfer, which is where both Barcelona and Manchester City appear on the scene.
