Manchester United is following a tough path in the Premier League and although many considered that the club was little by little returning to its best version after a great month of November, the reality is that they still have a lot to work on and suffered a painful defeat in hands of Bournemouth with a final score of 0-3 at Old Trafford. The club's coach reacted to this.
Manchester United suffered their 11th defeat of the season after losing 3-0 at home to Bournemouth in the English Premier League on Saturday. Goals from Dominic Solanke, Philip Billing and Marcos Senesi sparked loud boos inside Old Trafford as Erik ten Hag's side missed the chance to go level on points with defending champions Manchester City.
It also followed a morale-boosting victory against Chelsea in midweek after reports of player unrest in the dressing room. Despite a troubled campaign so far, United came into the game just three points behind fourth-placed City. But an error-strewn performance against Bournemouth highlighted the problems within United as they were soundly defeated. Bournemouth had won three of their last four games and were unbeaten during that run.
“After the 2-0 we break down and have to do things better. I definitely expected something different and I hoped before the game we can build on the performance and result from Chelsea, so I'm very disappointed with the way we started the game. I think we have to always be ready for a game and so I have to take the responsibility for it, I have to prepare my team for the game. We are really inconsistent. We have to become tougher and be ready for the game from the start. It can’t happen that you so easily concede a goal.”, Ten Hag confessed after the game.
