Chelsea is one of the most prominent teams in the Premier League. The Stamford Bridge team has had memorable moments over the past 20 years. With names like Frank Lampard, John Terry, Didier Drogba, among others, the Blue team has a modern history that has caused millions of fans around the world. However, his start to the season leaves much to be desired.
So far, Mauricio Pochettino's side have only won once in this current Premier League campaign. The outstanding teams in this campaign have undoubtedly been City, Tottenham, Arsenal and Liverpool which occupy the top positions of the table. Meanwhile, the reality of Chelsea is totally different which despite having a competitive squad, they simply have not been able to keep up.
One of the criticisms towards the team of American Todd Boehly is the amount of money they have spent since their arrival and the poor results they have been accumulating. This season alone, the north London team spent approximately $400 million on signings. In total, according to national and international media, Chelsea could have spend up to $1b since Boehly's takeover last year.
One of the most criticized is the Ukrainian Mikhailo Mudryk who has failed to score with the team despite having arrived last season. With a view to getting back on track, this could be the line-up chosen by Argentine Mauricio Pochettino to face Fulham since his visit to Craven Cottage in the city of Fulham.
With a Blue team getting even closer and closer to relegation spots, a win away from home could be vital to regain some ground in the Premier League. Furthermore, the point differences between the teams is not considerable. That means, a win today could place Chelsea in a higher position in order to take a deep breath and keep going forward during this season. With no intercontinental championships to dispute, Pochettino's team could only focus in the domestic league.
