Manchester United have carried out a thorough squad clear-out this day. Erik Ten Hag's team has already confirmed the departure of players such as Weghorst, Sabitzer and Jack Butland. However, it also confirms what will happen with David De Gea, who finished his contract on June 30, 2023 and is no longer officially a Manchester United player.

The club announced some time ago on its website its intention to extend the goalkeeper's contract, but on Tuesday, United, according to 'The Athletic', changed their mind at the last minute, did not sign the deal they had offered him and, in addition, according to 'Daily Mail' they made him a new proposal at a lower price.

In this way, after announcing multiple departures, the big star left free is the Spanish goalkeeper David De Gea, but in this case they confirm from Old Trafford that they are still negotiating for him to renew. Therefore, they do not consider the Spanish goalkeeper as lost, but in a few hours he could leave for free. At the moment, everything is still open and a renewal is not ruled out.

Will De Gea leave Manchester United?

The reality is that everything will depend on the Spanish goalkeeper, who will have the last decision. This would be to accept the new proposal, with a lower salary or definitely to settle with another team, and arrive for free. Whatever happens, he has been one of the big surprises of the current transfer market for next season.
