Bernardo Silva is finally close to making a final decision regarding his future. According to Matteo Moretto, it is increasingly likely that the player will end up staying at Manchester City and renew his contract to avoid his departure as a free agent in a couple of seasons. The Portuguese understands that his arrival at FC Barcelona is very complex and he has no interest, for the moment, in playing in the Saudi Pro League.

Prior to the setback in the Community Shield final, Pep Guardiola acknowledged at a press conference that the sky-blues are willing to make the necessary efforts to retain their big stars: “About Walker and Bernardo, what can I say…. They are very important players for us and we want them here no matter what. We are going to do everything possible to make them stay, ”he confessed.

Now, it seems that everything has been resolved and in Bernardo Silva's mind a future with Manchester City is already passing, at least for one more season. The Portuguese midfielder has established himself in an important way with his team and believes that it is time to establish himself once and for all with the citizen team heading into a new season.

How did Manchester City convince Bernardo?

The reality is that the confidence that Pep Guardiola has in the Portuguese as one of the referents of the project has been totally key for Bernardo to be more and more convinced to stay. In addition, a significant salary increase is expected if he decides to renew his contract with the club, he would become one of the highest paid in the team along with De Bruyne and Erling Haaland.
