The Premier League season has come to an end. Although there is still one matchday left to play, the teams with the best qualification already know their fate, as well as Manchester City, who lifted the trophy before the competition was even over. The opposite is the case of Liverpool, who suffered a terrible setback after confirming their absence in the next UEFA Champions League.

The team coached by Jurgen Klopp did not have the best start to the season and much of this is due to the readjustments that existed in the squad and many of the new elements that did not quite fit the German coach's idea of the game. For this reason, the results did not take long to appear and much of it has been due to the lack of effectiveness to close the results, as well as a great drop in the defensive level.

Now, Liverpool will pay for their sins of leaving a highly irregular season and not securing their place in the top four of the English league. While Manchester City breaks records in championship revenues, as well as bonuses and more income from the Premier League, Liverpool FC will lose a significant amount of money for being, momentarily, in the fifth position of the English tournament.

How much will Liverpool FC lose by being left out of the Champions League?

In the first instance, although Liverpool FC managed to secure European competition, being the UEFA Europa League, its income from participation does not compare to what it earns from being in the Champions League. For this reason, according to data from the Premier League itself, there is a difference of 15 million euros between what the Anfield team took in the 2021/22 season and what they will receive in this edition of the championship, where they could not compete at the top of the table. The network management could take action on the matter.
