Josko Gvardiol is already living his first days at Manchester City. The Croatian defender is likely to make his debut in the UEFA Super Cup final against Sevilla FC. It should be remembered that the player was requested by Pep Guardiola this season and has surprised many in his first days with the club.
The central defender was one of the revelations in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and Josep Guardiola requested him as a citizen reinforcement. His value in Transfermarkt is 75 million euros but apparently the operation was carried out in 15 more. The 21-year-old has signed a five-year deal with the Citizens and said the league, FA Cup and Champions League treble speaks to the club's ambition.
"Winning the third title says everything that is needed about the quality of the team. Joining City is something very special for me and my family," he confessed upon his arrival at the Manchester club. On the other hand, the Croatian was honest when highlighting the good work of Pep Guardiola and assured that his playing style will progress thanks to the Spaniard.
At the press conference prior to the duel between Sevilla and Manchester City, Manuel Akanji spoke about the integration of Gvardiol into the club. "I saw him play, played against him. Really good defender for his age. This club, so many good players/staff, he can learn a lot. He's settled really well. Not easy to join a team who won the treble. He 'll show what he can do..."
