One of the players whose future is not yet assured is precisely that of Iikay Gundogan at Manchester City. The player has established himself as one of the key players of this team for Pep Guardiola, but his contractual situation is not the most optimal, as his contract with the club is due to expire in the summer of 2023.

The German midfielder has made it clear on more than one occasion that he does not want to talk about his future at the moment, but hopes to clarify everything later. In that sense, Pep Guardiola knows that he is very close to losing one of his pillars at the club and this would be devastating for the coach's aspirations.

Guardiola has already expressed to the directors that a player of Gundogan's profile is irreplaceable and that an effort should be made to renew him. However, the final decision is on the side of the German player, who seems to have already determined his future for next season.

According to Iikay Gundogan, his future at Manchester City is something he does not want to talk about, in an interview with English media, but he confessed that when it is time to talk, he will do it and that something is already planned for it. In other words, his departure seems to be almost a done deal, barring any surprises.

Where could Gundogan play if he leaves Manchester City?

The possible destinations for the German player are not varied, despite the interest of more than one club in acquiring his services. According to SPORT, FC Barcelona is the team best positioned to acquire the player's services for next season.
