Iikay Gundogan has yet to confirm his future ahead of next season where he is a free agent as his contract with Manchester City is coming to an end. However, his departure from the team is not yet confirmed and the German player still has the final say on whether to renew or leave England. Now, after winning the FA Cup, Gundogan gives a great news to his club.

The current Manchester City captain is a key element for Pep Guardiola's team and the coach has already shared his thoughts on the German's renewal. In a matter of days, Ilkay Gündogan has lifted two trophies as Manchester City captain. But in less than a week, it could be three with the long-awaited Champions League.

Pep Guardiola, coach of the Sky Blues, has been quite clear in speaking about his pupil. "He knows what I think, we are neighbors and we have been friends for years. Txiki (Begiristain) is working, Ilkay is playing exceptionally well. I hope everything ends well," he said in a statement.

fter the last two goals scored at Wembley, Ilkay Gündogan admitted to the BBC that "winning a final is always special. All trophies are special. This group deserves it. We played very well, the second half was incredible and we deserved to lift another trophy."

What did Gundogan say about his future at Manchester City?

"I don't need these kind of days to feel appreciated and feel special at this club. I know that and that's why I've been here for seven years. Nothing is decided yet, we'll see what happens," said the Manchester City captain on BBC microphones after winning the FA Cup.
