Manchester United closed an important season in the Premier League, where despite not managing to compete for the title, they finished in the Top 4 of the table, resulting in the Red Devils' return to the UEFA Champions League after a season in the Europa League.

Manchester United's return to the UEFA Champions League means that the club will be aiming to sustain a strong showing in the competition next season. However, for Ten Hag, there is a priority and he is issuing a warning that has the whole of Europe shaking in its boots.

The end of the current season marked year 1 of Erik Ten Hag's time at the helm. In that time, he managed to win the Carabao Cup, is in the FA Cup final and returned Manchester United to the UEFA Champions League. However, for Ten Hag, this "falls short" of the aspirations of a club like Old Trafford in England.

In an interview with the club's official channels, the Dutch coach was clear about what he had achieved. "I have enjoyed it every day, every hour and every minute. It's a challenge I wanted to take on and little by little we achieved what we expected," said Ten Hag. However, he also took the opportunity to send a challenging message to other English clubs and also to European teams.

What was Ten Hag's threat to the other clubs?

According to the Manchester United coach, "finishing in the Top 4 is not enough". In this way he makes it clear that the club is going for much more and wants to fight for as many titles as possible this season. "We want to be the best in the world," said the Dutch coach. Manchester United will face Manchester City in the FA Cup final on June 3, where they could deny Pep Guardiola's side a treble.
