Liverpool FC is experiencing an important moment in the current season with Mohamed Salah who is increasingly in the best possible way. The Egyptian striker is one of the players who has marked an era in the English team. However, now being one of the best players in the recent history of Liverpool FC, Mohamed Salah reveals one of his great addictions.

Mohamed Salah has admitted an addiction unknown to everyone or almost everyone. The Liverpool striker, 31, explained in an interview with 'Sky Sports' that he is hooked on online chess and that he dreams of meeting the Norwegian grandmaster Magnus Carlsen, 32 years old and world champion from 2013 to 2023.

The player offered more details: "I literally play chess every day, I'm addicted. I don't use my name, I use my name as a username followed by some numbers. They ask me if I am Mohamed Salah and I answer yes, but they don't believe me. 'You're lying,' they tell me. Then I end up saying, 'Okay, I'm lying.' The player revealed a curious anecdote that surprises more than one person.

What other players also have a love for chess?

Asked about his level, the Egyptian replied: "I'm not as good as Magnus Carlsen, but I'm good. Nobody has a chance against him, but I hope we can play one day." Carlsen, for his part, has become known as a great fan of football and Mo Salah. Other footballers who love chess are Trent Alexander Arnold, Christian Pulisic, Martin Odegaard and former Real Madrid player Esteban Granero. The Egyptian player placed himself significantly among athletes with a love for other sports.
