American defender Sergino Dest is in his second season at Barcelona and it has not quite gone according to plan for the young defender who was signed from Ajax and also had interest from Bayern Munich before joining Barcelona.

Spanish tabloids reported weeks ago that he is not untouchable at the club and with the right offer he could be sold despite only just joining the club at the beginning of last season. El Nacional are now reporting Chelsea are interested in making him the second USMNT player in their team after Christian Pulisic.

Dest is valued by Barcelona at around £25m which would be a cheap buy for Chelsea but he is not really needed at Stamford Bridge considering the plenty defensive options at Thomas Tuchel's disposal at Chelsea and the fact that he would have to compete against Reece James who has been the best right back in the league, if not in the world this season.

Chelsea let go of young right backs Tariq Lamptey and Tino Livramento because the squad is too big to accommodate them and have buy back clauses on them, both of whom are better defenders than Dest, it makes no sense letting those two go and signing Sergino Dest.
