Wilson Harris has signed his very first contract with Sporting Kansas City on a homegrown deal announced by the club this Wednesday. The youngster is only 20 years old and scored 20 career goals in the USL Championship, becoming the youngest player to do so. Playing for Sporting KC II he scored 23 goals during the season, leading that start with his team.

Harris is one of Kansas City major prospect and the club expects much of him. U.S. journalists specialist who saw him play compare him to Chicharito Hernández. Both aren't that tall to play as center forwards but have an incredible capacity to score. The American will try to follow the Mexican steps in Europe, for sure, but will first start at the MLS.

Since very young, Harris integrated the United States youth teams, playing at U-16, U-18 and U-20 levels. He is still waiting for his first call-up with the major team of the national squad, but that will be just a matter of time if he continues progressing in this way.

Kansas City are now third in the Western Conference after earning 30 points out of 18 games played. In their final games of the regular season they will meet Colorado Rapids, Cincinnati, Minnesota and Real Salt Lake in order to achieve their objective of finishing in the playoffs zone.
