Orlando City SC made their first move in the transfer window and signed Alexander Alvarado, a winger aged 21 who played for Aucas and is international for Ecuador team. He will sign in a short-term loan with an option to make a permanent transfer after the season ends.

Alvarado started as a player for Independiente del Valle and then moved to Deportivo Quito when a youth. He left to Gualaceo SC before heading to Aucas, where he played the best part of his professional career. There, he scored six goals and gave 14 assists across 88 games.

The attacker is a young player with a lot of capacity who can play in every single part of the field, from left to right or also in the middle of the field. He made two appearances for his national team, playing for the first time on September 2019. He also played in the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Poland for Ecuador.

Alvarado is now waiting to receive the Visa to travel to the U.S. Afterwards, he will have to make the quarantine period and attach to MLS protocol before joining his teammates. Orlando City are fourth in the Eastern Conference and may be adding him to the team for the last matches of the regular season.
