Atlanta United fans deposit a lot of hope on Marcelino Moreno. The Argentine offensive midfielder arrived from Lanús for $7 million and is set to be Gonzalo "Pity" Martínez replacement at the club. But his arrival was not as he spectated, as the COVID-19 pandemic put him through a process of self-isolation.

Moreno hasn't yet trained with his companions and will meet them for the first time on Saturday, the exact same day that Atlanta is facing New York RB on Week 17. It would be strange for head coach Carlos Bocanegra to let him in with almost no preseason training but the expectations are so high that we can't really assure he won't be playing.

The 25-year-old player has great conditions in order to fit in the MLS. He can play at the center and also as a winger and during his career he showed a great condition to dribble and win one-to-one encounters.

Atlanta really need Marcelino to be able to play as soon as possible, as since the departure of Martínez and the absence of Ezequiel Barco they are missing a playmaker who can give the team a quality jump. So far, they are at the ninth position in the eastern conference, trying to find their way to the playoffs zone.
