The Argentinian player Walter Montoya will end his loan with Racing Club on December of this year and will have to return to Cruz Azul since the Argentine club won't make use of the purchase option of 4 million dollars that the Mexican team imposed. On the other hand, there is a chance that Montoya stays in Racing if Cruz Azul agrees to loan him again. For now, it is something that in Mexico doesn't seduced much.

The former Sevilla player is linked by contract with Cruz Azul until the end of 2021. The executives of La Maquina Cementera are worried about the possibility that the contract isn't renewed and Montoya in June 2021 sign a pre-contract with other club as free agent without leaving any money in return.

Walter Montoya arrived at Cruz Azul in January 2018 from Sevilla in exchange for 5.5 million euros. Unable to adapt to Mexican soccer, Montoya went on a loan to Gremio with a charge of 265 thousand euros. Montoya could not adapt to Brazilian soccer either and was in Gremio for only 6 months.

Days after returning from the loan at Gremio, Montoya was announced as a signing of the Racing Club with a loan of 18 months and, as we have already mentioned, a purchase option of 4 million dollars. Today, the Argentine team wants to continue counting with Montoya but Cruz Azul is only interested in selling him since they need that money to sign new players. The decision of what will happen with Montoya's future depends on Cruz Azul.
