Valentín Castellanos has a very particular story. He was born at Mendoza, Argentina, but never played for a club in his country. He moved to Chile, where his father lived, and started playing for Universidad de Chile. He then left to CA Torque at Uruguay and then arrived, first on a loan and then on a permanent move, to NYCFC.

After more than a year of his arrival, Castellanos is perfectly adapted to the MLS and has been named the MLS player of the month. During the last games he scored a goal against Chicago Fire and three against NY Red Bulls and gave an assist on both matches. His performances were stunning.

All in all, the Argentinian attacker played 71 games for NYCFC, scoring 19 goals and giving 10 assists. If things continue this way on his career, a move to some top European teams could be considered. He always assured that the chance of doing so was a possibility that he is dreaming since young.

If Castellanos moves to Europe the transfer could be of several million. But if Pep Guardiola wants him at Manchester City things will be different, as Manchester City and NYCFC are both from the same group and the player could be transferred from one to another with no payment in the middle.
