Javier Eduardo López, commonly known as La Chofis, is set to leave Chivas. The offensive midfielder has been declared transferable by the club after he committed some undisciplined acts that were sanctioned by the club, with other players such as Alexis Peña, José Juan Vázquez and Dieter Villalpando.
López was formed in Chivas and is 26 years old. Even though his contract lasts until June 2022, things have changed now, and he will be leaving as soon as another side makes a bid for him. Monterrey has showed interested in him and could be making an offer in order to sign him.
As he is sanctioned by the club, it is expected that Chivas let him out easily, without pretending a huge amount of money for him. But the player could clearly negotiate a new contract and improve it with his new club. Actually, he has a reported value of $3 million according to specialized website Tranfermarkt.
Chivas finished seventh on the tournament Guard1nes Liga MX after earning 26 points out of 17 games played. Now, they’ll clash Necaxa on their first playoffs match. Recently, the team coached by Víctor Vucetich defeated Monterrey 3-1 on their last game of the regular season.
