The reasons why Cristian Pavon can lead LA Galaxy

LA Galaxy is currently sitting rock-bottom of MLS’s Western Conference. The team does not respond and keep losing and this is not what was expected for Guillermo this season. When he brought Chicarito Hernández the expectations were really high, he had already completed a great career in Europe and he is still a Mexican icon.

However, the 31-year-old striker has scored just once in nine games, and The Galaxy is wingless. Without the Mexican on the pitch the team has won five games, drawn one and lost two of their eight games. Who is leading the team when Chicharito is not there? Argentine forward, Cristian Pavon.

The 24-year-old is improving very well in the MLS and has already been called for a World Cup. In 29 appearances across all competitions, Pavon has managed to score 11 goals and give 8 assists. His performance did not decrease, but the level of the team did. LA Galaxy needs to overcome the exit of Ibrahimović right now.

Pavon is young, is hungry and has a pace and stamina really hard to find in the league. He can lead the team, but he can not play alone. It is a matter of time before some European big team decides to make a move for the former Boca player and Schelotto knows this. Chicharito was not the right choice to play aside the Argentinian. So, who is it then?
