Mexico national team played against South-Korea the first game of the FIFA international break of November with a triumph 3-2. They’ll now face Japan in their second appearance, but under very different circumstances. Head coach Gerardo Martino won’t count on some players.
Jesús Corona, known as Tecatito, and Héctor Herrera players who won’t be able to play on Tuesday. With the two absences, Martino losses some very important players who can give him a lot in attack. There is no doubt that the squad is not long as required and that some is missing.
Carlos Vela talked with Martino before the call-up but decided to maintain his decision of resigning to the national team. Martino said that Mexico won’t wait him forever, but the national team needs him and a lot. Vela has to be back in order to have a more competitive and ideal team.
Vela decided to retire after his last match against Brazil on Russia 2018 World Cup round of 16. The attacker is comfortably installed on LA, where he lives with his family and plays with LAFC, and has no intentions of going back. But if he does so, then Mexico will have a player vital for them.
