On November 4 of 2019 Carlos Vela received the award for being the MLS MVP during the past season. The Mexican attacker completed a great campaign for his team and showed all of his talent in the U.S. league. One year afterwards, he knows that he won’t win now the award, but there is another Mexican who could do so.

Vela is not even between the candidate to be the MVP this season. He was injured during the major part of it and couldn’t play so many games as he wished. Even though when he came back, he performed very well, those were not enough matches played as to consider him the MVP.

Vela won’t win it but Alan Pulido may. He is, aside with Rodolfo Pizarro, the great Mexican candidate for the award. The attacker from Sporting Kansas City arrived to the league from Chivas on January 2020 and scored seven goals in 14 games played for his new side.

Pizarro did also have a good season, but Inter Miami didn’t perform that well and that are the reasons to think that Pulido may be having more chances to be the MVP and end as Vela. There are some other greatest candidates to win the award, such as Darwin Quintero (Houston Dynamo), Lucas Cavallini (Vancouver), Franco Jara (Dallas FC) or Alejandro Pozuelo (Toronto).
