Carlos Vela experienced a very bad end of the season. LAFC was eliminated on the first round of the MLS Cup Playoffs of the Wester Conference against Seattle Sounders. The Mexican gave an assist on the second half, but failed a key penalty on the first half that could have help his team to equalize the game.
After another year in which his team won’t gain a title, the attacker is seriously thinking on leaving the MLS side. Vela has always been a competitive player and wants to play for big things, and at LAFC he couldn’t do so. That is the reason why he may be leaving after a couple of years.
Chivas is always interested on such a player, as he was born in the club but never play back again there. He left on January 2006 to Arsenal and then started a big time at Europe, playing for Arsenal, Celta de Vigo, UD Salamanca, CA Osasuna, West Bromwich and Real Sociedad, before arriving to the MLS.
After more than two years, Vela is now seriously thinking on going back to the Liga MX side and help his team gaining a title once again. Retirement is not that far away in his professional career, as he is already 31 years old, and he won’t be playing soccer much longer.
